Suitable for even the most elegant estate, Alumawood structures are available in five designer colors, lattice or solid roof, and a range of column options. With extensive experience in all phases of patio cover construction and the best warranties in the industry, Superior Awning is the only name you need to know for premium custom patio shade.

Aluminum Patio Covers

Aluminum patio covers are the most popular solid patio cover because they are cheaper, more durable, and require less maintenance than most other materials. Aluminum patio covers are constantly improving in patio cover design but are not as strong as a wood patio cover.

Arbors

This freestanding is often erected over a walkway or entrance way to a garden. The best way to identify an arbor is its structure, it contains supports on either side and across the top, which are often formed with lattice and often have curved tops. They are much smaller than a trellis or pergola.

Awnings

Awnings are often used to provide protection from the sun or inclement weather. Typically positioned over windows or exterior doors, an awning may be constructed of metal or heavy-duty materials with cloth or vinyl as the covering. Larger versions of the awning are sometimes utilized to provide cover for patio areas along the back of a house.

Balconies

A balcony is a platform projecting from the wall of a building, supported by columns or console brackets, and enclosed with a balustrade, usually above the ground floor. A balcony can double up as a great way to add shade to your patio while providing an extended living space from a room upstairs and used for entertaining.

Carports

Custom canvas or aluminum carports make excellent covered parking for singles, doubles or fleets as well as boats, quads and motorhomes. Adding a premium covered carport is an excellent way to protect all of your vehicles from all types of weather.

Gazeebos

Gazebos are freestanding or attached to a garden wall, roofed, and open on all sides. They provide shade, shelter, act asornamental features in a landscape, and offer a place to rest or can be used to entertain.

Lattice

Keep some of the sunshine by creating a subtle shading effect with an open lattice patio cover. The open lattice patio covers are versatile for backyard entertaining and resourceful when growing plants that do not need direct sunlight.

Pergolas

Pergolas are a good cooling off point between two buildings or along a pathway. Usually they are built with four columns on the sides, which are connected by beams and topped with open rafters. Other design options include replacing or attaching a vinyl or cloth cover to the open rafters.

Retractable Awnings

Retractable awnings help control the levels of light and sun exposure and help save energy costs. They also help protect indoor furniture, upholstery and artwork from fading. With the touch of a button, switch or remote control, an awning moves from partial to full protection.

Solid Roof Patio Covers

Insulated Patio Covers are often referred to as solid roof patio cover. As the name infers, these type of patio covers are the closest thing to adding a room outdoors without adding any walls. The insulation keeps this space cooler by absorbing the heat in the roof of the patio cover without transferring it to your patio floor.

Trellis

A Trellis is usually made from a tighter weave of open framework or intersecting pieces called latticeThe trellis can be used horizontally to shade spaces or vertically to divide them. Most trellis structures are covered with vines, or flowers because the trellis helps support the vines and flowering foliage to grow longer, higher, and fuller. A trellis will allow sunlight to always penetrate, and they don’t offer any protection from the rain.

If you prefer a traditional look of wood and require a particular or exotic grain to imitate your exterior home décor, this is the best option. With wood patio covers you can have them made to order and built on-site at your home. We offer custom build covers that can fit any patio.
